General Information

The Opening Ceremony is the central and high-profile event of the International Forum and marks the commencement of the five-day program of international, scientific, educational, business, and youth events.

Participants in the Opening Ceremony will include:

  • representatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan;
  • heads and representatives of ministries and government agencies;
  • members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of Tajikistan;
  • representatives of international and regional organizations;

Relevance

The Republic of Tajikistan holds an active and internationally recognized position in the global agenda of sustainable development, environmental security, and climate policy. The initiatives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in the fields of water diplomacy, glacier protection, and sustainable development have received broad international support and have been enshrined in resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly.

In the context of globalization and intense competition in international markets, the issue of sustainable development of domestic production has become one of the priority areas of economic policy for many countries. For the Republic of Tajikistan, where accelerated industrialization has been defined as a national strategic objective (announced in the annual Address of Emomali Rahmon), this topic is of particular importance.

Sustainable development of domestic production contributes to ensuring economic security and reducing dependence on imports. The production of competitive goods within the country makes it possible to meet domestic market demand and increase exports of industrial products.

YOUTH ECO-CAMP

"Green.Digital.Smart — Leadership Lab" — Official youth event within the framework of the International Forum "Partnership for Sustainable Development: Green. Digital. Smart" (April 20–24, 2026, Levakant, Republic of Tajikistan)

Strategic Objective

To foster a new generation of youth leaders in sustainable development equipped with practical competencies in the green economy, digital solutions, and socially responsible leadership, capable of designing, testing, and scaling environmental and social initiatives at the local and national levels.

Methodological Framework

The program is based on experiential learning, project-based learning, teamwork, and mentorship support. Participants will be engaged in solving practical problems, developing and implementing project ideas in interdisciplinary teams, and will receive continuous support and feedback from experts and mentors.

Programme Objectives

  • to ensure a deep understanding of the international and national sustainable development agenda, including the UN SDGs, climate policy, the green economy, and climate change adaptation;
  • to develop participants' leadership and management competencies: strategic thinking, communication, team dynamics, facilitation, and decision-making;
  • to build practical skills across the full project cycle — from problem identification and stakeholder analysis to the design, presentation, and pilot implementation of youth-led initiatives;
  • to strengthen youth digital competencies for data use, visualization, online communication, and the application of digital tools;
  • to establish a sustainable youth community and talent pipeline for the implementation of environmental and socially oriented programmes;
  • to promote environmental awareness and practical ecological skills through eco-actions, waste sorting practices, and hosting an eco-exhibition.

Green Module

Focuses on cultivating environmental awareness and developing professional "green" competencies. Participants explore the fundamentals of the green economy, climate risks, biodiversity conservation, waste management, and sustainable water and energy resource management, while gaining exposure to emerging career pathways in the environmental sector. The practical component includes the analysis of local environmental challenges and the development of applied, context-specific solutions.

Digital Module

Designed to equip participants with modern digital tools for the analysis, monitoring, and promotion of sustainable development initiatives. Participants work with digital platforms, data visualization techniques, elements of digital storytelling, and online collaboration tools, enabling increased effectiveness, visibility, and scalability of youth-led projects.

Smart Module

Focuses on the development of leadership and soft skills, including team collaboration, public speaking, argumentation, project management, and community engagement. Particular emphasis is placed on project presentation skills and effective interaction with public authorities, donors, and local partners.

Expected Results and Impact

  • training of 30 highly motivated youth leaders equipped with practical skills in sustainable development;
  • development and presentation of 5 youth-led environmental projects and pilot solutions tailored to local needs;
  • establishment of a sustainable youth network and volunteer pool capable of continued collaboration;
  • increased levels of youth engagement in project-based, civic, and volunteer activities related to sustainable development;
  • creation of a solid foundation for scaling the most promising initiatives in partnership with public authorities, universities, and international organizations.

Long-Term Sustainability

The outcomes of the Youth Eco-Camp will be integrated into subsequent youth programmes of the Forum, as well as university-based and regional initiatives. The established alumni network will serve as a platform for knowledge exchange, the initiation of joint projects, and active participation in national and international sustainable development programmes.
